Dr. Jirgal is a 1980 graduate of Gettysburg College where he became a four-time conference champion and All-American in the pole vault. He holds an undergraduate degree in Health Education and Physical Education. Following graduation, he taught on the high school and college level while coaching football and track in both venues. He holds a Masters degree in health education, a Masters degree in sports medicine, a Masters of divinity degree, and a Doctorate of Ministry degree.
For over five years, Mr. Jirgal served as the Area Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in South Central North Carolina. After resigning from FCA, he served as the Minister to Young Married Adults and men’s ministries at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, N.C. Currently he is the senior pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church in Monroe, N.C.
Mr. Jirgal serves on the board of directors for the Fellowship Of Christian Athletes, the Carolina Study Center, and Fathers in Touch ministry. He also serves on the board of trustees for New Orleans Seminary, and has served on ministerial board of Wingate University.
He is the author of four books including: The Path of A Champion, Dying to Live, The Dirty Dozen, and Life Points. His latest book has been released in April, 2015 called: Principles of Wholeness-Becoming Whole in a Fractured World
Dr. Jirgal is the founder and president of Forerunners, a life coaching business focusing on professional development and personal growth.
Steve regularly speaks to various groups throughout the east coast ranging from Promise Keepers, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as well as many church events, civic organizations, and business gatherings.
He and his wife Pam have been married for over 24 years. They have three children-Joshua aged 21, Caleb aged 18, and Sarah, aged 16. The Jirgals reside in Monroe, N.C.
